Ladies and gentlemen, here I want to give short introduction of our association as well as the development of polyurethane industry in Europe. ISOPA is a “trade association” based in Brussels, representing the European manufacturers of MDI, TDI and associated polylols, including Bayer, DOW Chemical HUNTSMAN and so on. Our goal is to develop and communicate the benefits of polyurethanes to industry and society, and to combines the expertise of experts in competitors to the benefit of all. Our goal is to promote the application of polyurethane globally by activities like supporting product technology, fairly supervising relative players and collecting & sharing expertise of experts.
Both Korea and China are our partners. Due to the CFC crisis as well as the emerging of issue management concept, ISOPA set up in 1987 as many industry leaders also considered that there need an appropriate organisation in existence to represent the polyurethane chemical producers.
Aiming at communicating the benefits of polyurethane (PU) to key decision-makers and influencers, we did a lot on the chemical regulation fields, and REACH regulation was the most persuasive evidence of our efforts. In addition, we tried our best on training driver and the ability of emergency response.
To sum up, ISOPA ensures that all stakeholders can easily access accurate and up-to-date information on diisocyanates and polylol, and the General Assembly has approved in June 2008 a five year's communication plan.
