Above all, I want to give a brief introduction about PU Magazine which firstly published in 1948. Headquarters in Ratingen, Germany, PU Magazine consists of 12 members including editorial, marketing, layout and administrative staffs, and we have 12 freelancers all over the world while cooperating with many publishing houses.
Here I want to give an analysis on global PU industry. As we have noticed that 5 key factors generate PU industry numerous chances and opportunities, they are raw material supply, rising energy costs, sustainability, global warming and out lifestyle. From 2000 to 2010, total MDI yield all over the world would hike dramatically, which is mainly contributed by potential Asia market, and meanwhile the development in America would be mediocre.
Total production of TDI also soared notably, however, it is a tendency that total amount in America is decreasing gradually. As regarding to the demand issue, automotive-used polyurethane, notably rigid polyurethane foams also surges greatly. From this chart we could notice that TDI cold molding foam accounted for 79% of the total foam business amount in NAFTA while in China, the ratio is 35% and TDI thermoplastic foam takes 40%. As for the downstream industries, especially refrigerator industry, the prosperity permeating the whole field is worthy of attention, as we can get from this chart, USA is the most productive country all over the world in refrigerator area, followed by Western Europe. Accompanied with those inspiring opportunities from downstream, some challenges, notably those caused by the rising cost of materials, also confronting polyurethane industry; furthermore, the soaring prices of crude oil as well as natural gas also stress polyurethane manufacturers tremendously.
