Sheela Foam was set up in 1972 by his mother Mrs. Sheela Gautam. Largest Foam manufacturer in India. The company manufactures flexible Polyurethane Foam and its articles at multiple locations across the country. These products are marketed throughout India and its neighbours via a well established distribution system. The Bedding and Furniture category is sold under an advertised Brand “SLEEPWELL”.
In 2005, Sheela Foam acquired the business of Polyurethane Foam and Polystyrene of M/s. Joyce Foam, Australia, second largest in Australia with five manufacturing plants. Which manufactures a wide range of foam products for consumer and industrial application
And in 2006, Sheela Foam entered into a Joint venture with M/s. Woodbridge group, Canada, the largest manufacturer of moulded P.U.foam products for automotive industry in the world, to cater to the needs of growing automotive industry in India.
Presently, Rahul is the Chairman of Indian Polyurethane Association, which covers industries such as Bedding, Furniture, Insulation, Cold Chains, Shoes and Packaging. Under his stewardship, the first Polyurethane Summit- PUTECH – 2005 and second PUTECH- 2008 was successfully held from 12th to 14th March ’08.
