Dr. Azita Owlia is Head of Regional Marketing, Polyurethanes Marketing Asia Pacific. Based in Hong Kong she is responsible for the development of the Asia Pacific Polyurethanes marketing and innovation strategies of Bayer MaterialScience.
Prior to this position she has been holding the position of Vice President of Rigid/Specialties Raw Materials in North America since January 2003. In 2000 Dr. Owlia was appointed Vice President of the Consumer Market group responsible for the development of plans and strategies for markets and products in the Plastics Division of Bayer Corporation.
Dr. Owlia joined Bayer in 1988 as a Senior Chemist at the Baytown facility. She was named Business Manager, Fluorescent Whitening Agents for the Performance Products Division in 1998.
Born in Tehran, Iran, Dr. Owlia received her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from University of Connecticut and her MBA from University of Houston – Clear Lake.
